Connect a controller

On a computer or a phone. Plug it in, or pair it over Bluetooth.

Wireless
  1. 1Turn the controller on with the Xbox button.
  2. 2Hold the small Pair button on the top (next to the charging port) for about 3 seconds, until the Xbox button flashes quickly.
  3. 3Pick Xbox Wireless Controller in your device’s Bluetooth settings.
With a cable

Plug it into your computer with a USB cable. That’s it.

Older Xbox One controllers without Bluetooth (the plastic around the Xbox button runs into the bumpers) need the cable.

Once it’s paired or plugged in, press any button on it: browsers only see a controller after a button press.
